Saturday 10 am - 2 pm (Presently, Open from 8am -10am for MD Chanting Session)

The SGI-USA Community Center in Houston is the only official community center within the Texas Gulf Coast Region, a region that expands along the Eastern side of Texas from North of Houston down to the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas.
The Community Center is host to bustling activity year-round and acts as a “second home” to many SGI-USA Houston members. Members and non-members alike can participate in a number of activities on nearly every day of the week, including study sessions, planning meetings, daimoku tosos (extended chanting sessions), new member meetings, skit practice, Taiko drumming, performing arts rehearsals, and arts department activities. It is also a place to meet people and make life-long friends devoted to expanding lives through promoting peace and happiness through exemplary life force.
The Houston center’s facilities include:
- Large Gohonzon room (seats 250-280)
- Small Gohonzon room (seats 40-50)
- Study room (seats up to 10)
- Bookstore
- Kitchen/study room
- Business office
- Men’s and Women’s restrooms
Bookstore Hours of Operation:
Saturdays 11:15 - 12:15
Sundays 11:30 am - 12:30 pm (except the Sunday at the beginning of Discussion Meeting week)
On the first Sunday of every month the hours are: 9:30 - 9:45am; 11:30 - 12:45; and 2:30 - 3:30pm

Merge onto TX-288 S
Take the exit onto US-59 toward Victoria
Take the exit toward Edloe St/Weslayan Rd
Merge onto SW Fwy
Take the Edloe St exit
Continue straight onto Edloe St.
Turn Right at W. Alabama
Turn Right onto Marquart and the Houston Community Center is on your left
From I-45 South:
Take exit 46B on the left for TX-288 S/US-59 S toward Victoria/Lake Jackson/Freeport
Merge onto TX-288 S
Take the exit onto US-59 toward Victoria
Take the exit toward Edloe St/Weslayan Rd
Merge onto SW Fwy
Take the Edloe St exit
Continue straight onto Edloe St.
Turn Right at W. Alabama
